We are thrilled to announce the release of BrightEarth On Demand v2.4.0-beta, part of our Early Adopters Program! This latest version is packed with exciting new features and enhancements designed to give users even more control, accuracy, and flexibility in their geospatial data analysis. Here’s what’s new in this beta release:

1. Stereo Mode for Image Search Tool

We’ve added Stereo Mode to the Image Search Tool, allowing users to find ortho-image pairs from Maxar or Airbus archives. These image pairs offer a significant improvement in calculating object heights, providing far greater precision than single images. This upgrade is essential for applications like urban planning, defense, and environmental studies, where height accuracy is critical.

2. Accurate Heights Mode for Extractions

Delivering on one of our key promises, Accurate Heights Mode is now live! By analyzing stereo ortho-images, you can extract object heights with a precision of +/- 1 meter. This level of detail was made possible by our enhanced stereo image analysis. For industries that rely on height data, such as construction or infrastructure planning, this feature brings unprecedented accuracy.

3. Walls & Fences Extraction

We’ve introduced the ability to automatically extract walls and fences from imagery (see announcement). This was a much-requested feature, especially by clients in sectors like defense, where understanding physical barriers is crucial. Now, visible walls and fences can be vectorized directly, streamlining workflows and improving the quality of your boundary mapping.roads

4. Enhanced Building Extractions

The building extraction process has been significantly refined, providing sharper, more accurate results. These improvements speed up the process and enhance the quality of extracted building data, making your city planning or infrastructure projects more efficient.

5. Improved Roads Extraction with OSM data fusion

The methodology and AI for route extraction have been improved (see scientific description below). We now offer route extraction by automatic detection, relying where relevant on the topological skeleton present in OpenStreetMap (OSM) data.

The result is a mix of OSM data readjusted to the Image and topologically restructured (displayed in blue) and data absent from OSM (such as new routes or those not included in OSM) displayed by default in red. Because we know that some users prefer to take advantage of OSM data recalibrated to the Image, we also deliver this dataset when downloading the archive.new_beod_roads

6. User Interface Enhancements: Layer Transparency & Reordering

We’ve added two powerful new tools to improve your 3D GIS data visualization experience:

  • Layer Transparency: You can now adjust the transparency of both vector and raster layers, making it easier to analyze overlapping data and visualize your results more clearly.

  • Layer Reordering: This new feature allows you to reorder layers, giving you control over which layers are displayed on top, optimizing your data analysis process.

7. Fine-Tuning Scenario for Custom AI Training

For users looking to take customization to the next level, we’ve added the Fine-Tuning Scenario. This advanced feature lets users who upload their own imagery and precise vector data retrain our AI model on specific areas of the image. This process, known as Fine Tuning in AI, ensures the model performs even better on your unique dataset. Once the model is fine-tuned, you can rerun extractions for even more accurate results tailored to your specific needs.

These new features in BrightEarth On Demand v2.4.0-beta demonstrate our commitment to providing the most accurate, customizable, and powerful geospatial analysis tool available. We hope you find these enhancements as exciting as we do!

But the best is yet to come—stay tuned for the official release, arriving in early December, where we’ll reveal even more features and improvements.

Thank you for being part of our Early Adopters Program. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to refine and improve BrightEarth!
